Probably due to the new oil or heavier fork oil meant for my weight??. The front is less soft. Doesn’t dive all the way down when braking into a corner and stays put when loading the front. When hitting bumps it settle right away, instead of that so called pogo effect. Overall it feels more planted, kid of reminds me of my old 390 Duke with the WP forks. I’ve low sided this bike in a corner due to the front went under from me (a dip into a incline to a corner). I’ve taken that same corner at the same speed (10 mph) with this mod, I don’t feel the bike wandering anymore. One thing my old Duke had over this FZ was the stock suspension was very adequate and reliable. I’m just trying to get the FZ to that level, I want to feel I don’t have to second guess myself when entering a familiar turn. 3

I have no idea why this would be, as all of our files use the most updated quickshifter firmware from FTECU, but their software has not been very reliable recently with many of their new updates screwing up older features. We have updated the firmware and re-done the Read process to make sure no other pieces of the flash are corrupted. “ ECU should be back tomorrow so my fingers are crossed. Going to get it all back together and go for a ride. Thanks 2wheeldynoworks for saving a little of my sanity! ECU showed up yesterday after touring the country. My ECU would be platinum frequent flyer it’s gone from coast to coast so many times. Anyway, installed and took for ride and “quick shift” from first to second, second to third, and then nothing. I can’t “quick shift” above third gear? I call 2WDW and Nate said he is going to check the “read” again. Ftecu is not scoring any points with me. I have had nothing but issues so far. Waiting to hear back from 2WDW but probably sending ECU back again.
timjh
It remains cool for April, and the winter was wet, so I hoped to see a good wildflower crop at South Mountain today. The few photos I took weren't worth posting - there were more buds than blooms and the best ocotillo were in places without a good place to park. Maybe in a few more days. No crowds at all. I do love this bike.

And you bought the harness kit that came with the license, correct? And you’re using the map that’s in the FTECU software?

Well 2WDW instructed me to contact Ftecu and send the push sensor in to be tested. I am not sure how it is the issue as nothing changed except me sending the ECU out again, but I sent it there anyway. Hopefully it is the issue and we will see. Will update when I hear something. Sucks that my bike is down (again...) when the weather is nice.

Right now I'm running their stock map that I've tinkered with. All the maps have worked without any issues.

iSmkGrnBud
Flushed my front and rear brake fluid since the bike has been on a showroom floor for 2 years. Installed an r6 throttle tube and some new grips as well today. Received my DNA stage 2 filter and air box lid. Put in the order today for my Two Bros S1r exhaust. Emailed 2wdw for some info on getting the ECU flash. Been a good day.
Taco420
Today was a good day I am a new MT07 owner just hit 600 miles and was able to do my check list oil, filter, chan ejustment, etc. But then I also did my shorty's windshield, short levers, bar end mirrors, and also plugged up my jbl audio speaker. Cheap windshield so I drilled a hole in it and bolted it up. Plastic washers and some rubber and and new location for stickers would like to add pics but I dont know how too. If anyone does let me know hope everyone is safe out there.

iSmkGrnBud
Received the goodies in the mail today! Sent off the ECU this morning to 2WDW. Gonna pop off the OEM exhaust and install the filter and lid tonight. Still waiting on new exhaust gaskets to show up though so I cant install the two bros tonight so stoked for this system though. These bikes are just way too quiet stock. Edited April 17, 2020 by iSmkGrnBud

LamHa
My amazon wheel chock just came in. Don't really like this design too much. There's a lot of flex and its quite difficult getting it in and out but it really helps to open up some room in my garage.
Premium Member Popular Post fzar Posted April 19, 2020 Premium Member Popular Post Share Posted April 19, 2020 I re-installed my rear pillion foot-pegs. Why? I promised my son I'd take him for a ride on thursday if he did his chores. Unfortunately it went to 30F overnight and rained into friday, he had forgot/dismissed it. I woke this morning and wanted to do a few unnecessary things to the bike, but thought I would enjoy giving him the giggles as he has had the pillion Daddy/MSF pillion tutorial under his belt and rode before. The bonus is my daughter has never been on a bike and she hates how people drive around in cages. She thinks "the risk far outweighs the reward " I went to her room and told her she should try it, as all we'd have to do is swap gear from one to another. She was cagy saying next time maybe! I responded, next time you'll think of another reason not to, you've been stuck at home for 5 weeks, trust me, your in the safest hands you can be in, as I'll have the most precious cargo riding pillion, that I'm responsible for. My son went first, he was so happy with me hitting 5k rpm gradually, but, more progressive than before, and it's been reflashed with a Akra-Ti. I was happy that he was moving his head into the corner I was taking, I could feel his helmet swapping sides. He does have a tendency to put lean more into a corner than is needed. (He probably thought he was riding himself.! Heck I did a whole GP and WSBK season in 1 year hanging off the side of the couch when I was a kid!) Then came my daughter, she could hear that we had returned. ( barple, barple. sans baffle) I had left her with her thoughts and my assurance I would never but her in danger, I didn't expect to see her as we rolled up the driveway, but their she was with anticipation all over her face, nervously revising her agreement with me. in her mind. I just proceeded to follow our rules for dismount with my son, internally delighted that she was so close to getting on the bike. It wasn't a done deal yet, if she flaked! WTF am I gonna do? I can't make her do it. I did as I usually do with my GSD attitude, no drama. I helped my son take off the helmet, jacket, back protecter, gloves, etc. and she started moving around as if she's going to leave. She didn't. I now have an opportunity of at least my lifetime to make this a complete failure and scare the bejesus out of her and she'll never do this again (not so terrible if you have a daughter in highschool) or she will trust me and enjoy this opportunity. I start by going through the safety rules and a backout clause if she's not comfortable while we ride, thats the surety of getting her on, is that theres an out option even while riding. We suit and boot her up, I'm pretty confident that it's a go at this point. I didn't start the bike in the garage (sans-baffle) as this could be the last straw, to the decider. Then 15 Dodge Challenger's and a hellcat roll through our neighborhood, sayin Hi to Y'all, I loved it. Kids ran outside from the bellows of their internal caverns filled with Wi-Fi and electronic devices, to witness or at least feel something that makes some ,not all, but me also feel alive. I let them roll out and do there thing, as I had bigger plans for this monumental day for me (yes it's all about my love of 2 wheels, and paying it forward. Its something that happened to me, and Iv'e never regretted it since) they just don't know it yet! So here we are suited and booted, revised verbal agreements, and she gets on the bike. I nervously short-shift around the block, to keep rpm down and be smooth. I stop at an intersection and ask her if she's okay? She replied fine, lets go!! I took her through a series of sub-divisions-left-rights etc. I stop and ask again are you okay? Yeah lets go further, she replies. I'm okay with it as shes flowing well with me in turns. I head towards a school and as my son attends this school, Iv'e always joked that it would make a great go-cart track as I'm dropping him of in the morning, hang a right and roll through smooth with corner speed and apex-in the turns, hit an freeway and went through the gearbox, got home and she was the happiest girl Iv'e seen in 5 weeks. It made me happy, them happy, wife happy, passed kids safely playing on their own lawn ,( social distancing) giving me the WOT hand signal, I gladly obliged AKRA-TI sans baffle. Great day, if you ask me.! SO what did I do to my FZ-07 today! Very little. What did we do with it........ A lot if you ask me. SORRY FOR THE RAMBLING ON... It's all perspective. Be safe sisters and brothers, wash your hands. DAVE.
