Gotta wrap up a pair of turn signals then I'll take it apart measure and build a cad model.

cybmx, I've got that same exhaust on mine. How do you like it so far? Do you have both baffles in it? I have done some experimenting with my baffles.

Do what? The blurple frame/wheels were always with the liquid graphite body color.
Actually, all three body colors have different colored frames. Rapid red has a black frame and pearl white has a silver frame.

Those woodcraft bars beg for a gilles speedo relocation bracket.

What parts are used there? Are they the Gilles adaptors? I thought they raised the bars up and back. I'm trying to find the gear needed to lower/push mine out a bit but they are still fairly new, and not so frequently modded in Australia. I just ordered the Renthal street Ultralow's, but would be stoked to remove those massive towers they sit on!

Took the peg feelers off. I didn't even know they were there until I was reading a thread about chicken strips. I'm touching the "2CT" so I imagine scraping that feeler was coming soon.

That relocation bracket is pretty cool apart from preventing you from using any aftermarket windscreen currently on the market. I really dig those bar risers, though.

Ok, well it was yesterday, but I rode it the whole day!

I learned I can take an all day trip on my FZ-07 in full gear in high heat conditions.

Made the pilgrimage to Angela's Crest Hwy from Vegas (about a 4 hour ride each way of straight boring interstate) and didn't miss a beat. I wore my full 1 pc suit with all the trimmings like I was headed for a track day. It's the 2015 Alpinestars Motegi with their 1 pc undersuit.

I got to hand it to them, it did a great job as far as comfort goes for an all day ride. It even has internal pockets so I could store my phone and wallet instead of leaving in the tail section of the bike. The undersuit actually kept me pretty cool, even when the outside temp showed 109 degrees in the middle of the desert.

The bike ran flawlessly the whole day. In my latest tune I asked my tuner for a little less engine braking, and it seems I also got some good gas mileage with this tune as well. The MPG said 72.1 MPG, and the AVE MPG screen said 58.9. Not sure why the big difference but even at 58.9 I thought that was pretty good considering he added MORE fuel to achieve my desired engine braking request. It also ran cooler as well. Never got above 183 degrees despite sustained triple digit heat.

This whole road trip experience is making me re-think me wanting a new R1 next spring, as I don't see myself ever taking an 8 hour+ road trip on one of those and actually having fun, lol.

I also learned that I need to invest in some earplugs, lol. At sustained speed on the interstate, there was this surreal moment when the wind noise would overshadow my Akra Ti w/o baffle, and it was pure bliss. Don't get me wrong, I love the sound of my bike but I should probably try and save what hearing ability I have left, lol.

Paulie,
I also took the longest ride yesterday, left the house at 715am and returned at 500pm, we stopped quite often, but all in all likely put about 300mi on the bike. I add the Givi Windscreen and Pazzo shorty levers...wow, what a change. I now can comfortably ride 80mph and not feel like a sail, and those shorty levers, man they made shifting and braking much more smooth.

@thestache that's awesome! I'd have to check but I believe I put in around 500 miles or so, give or take :)

Unfortunately my ride was bitter sweet. Once we got to our destination, we only stayed for less than 20 min before having to turn around and come straight back. One of the guys I went with crashed in less than 10 min up the mountain and wanted to go home. He was banged up pretty bad, and so was the bike. I never leave someone behind, ever, so my other buddy and I escorted him back all the way to Vegas.

I was pretty busy yesterday. I installed my yoshimura exhaust, Dobeck EJK and fender eliminator. I also removed my reflectors on the front forks. It was pretty intimidating stripping down a brand new bike and it was also my first time working on a bike.

Sounds like a great trip Paulie.  Glad you got the tuning sorted. I'm pretty happy with my FZ-07 for the trips I've done so far (200ish miles).  I think if I was to buy a bike for longer trips, it definitely would be more sport tourer than R1'ish.  Maybe an FJ-09 or the yet to be released FJ-07?.  Of coarse I would have to consider a decked out Interceptor too. :) Also, I still have my baffles in my Akra Ti, and it is the least of my noise problems, in fact, with my helmet, even the wind noise at speed is usually tolerable, but it can get annoying at freeway speeds when there is a head wind.  I haven't resorted to earplugs yet because (as a bicyclist too), I really feel the need to hear whats around me, so it's a trade-off.

Why can't left turners see us?

Been riding with earplugs for 5 years. I can still hear the relevant sounds around me. What I can't hear is that annoying little metallic rattling noise from the front end of our bikes, nor can I hear the ringing in my ears after an hours ride home from tinnitus...which would be there after that high pitched wind noise.

But yeah, I think for long trips the FJ-09 would be perfect, especially if I want to bring a passenger.  That would be awesome!

Passed my Motorcycle safety class with a 0. I'm glad I took the class but I'm also glad that I had some real word experience before the class. My class was only 25 bucks for  the 16 hour class and they gave us a $65 safety vest.

I would say if you have not taken a class I highly recommend it.
