mossrider
Aaron wheeled in on his R6 to turn wrenches this morning. Really nice to have a second pair of hands to do bodywork. This pic should give a good idea of the speeds I'm capable of generating, Got V2 put together, Fired it up, (make sure you plug your crank position sensor into the correct plug) Took both girls out for a run, She's a monster no doubt. Neighbors seemed a little unimpressed so we parked them after a few laps. The Leo Vince can on mine sounds crazy! I wasn't going to paint it but now I'm thinking I'll put tape lines on it and see if the body shop down the road will shoot me some cheap paint. Either something outrageous or plain white and the new owner can wrap it, paint it or whatever. Of course I'll have to swap motors yet when I get his done.

mossrider
So good news, bad news day. Good news bodywork is at painters. Better news I have a set of Dymag forged aluminum wheels coming for this bike courtesy of Paul @bellissimoto, fricken crack dealer. Bad news, now I'm depressed about my POS, gonna hafta get a friggin RS660 and then ...stupid sport... I hate ...waaa..sniff.. Gonna be fun to watch this thing getting beat on tho! 3
ludedude
forged aluminum wheels....yumm...drooool I've been following the RS660 for awhile now. It'll be interesting to see when it's released (and if it's near $12.5k like the dealer in CA is saying) as the original release was thought to be around September, before all this covid crap. mossrider
Forgot to mention, I had a set of fairings at a custom graphics shop getting 3d laser measured so now I can simply have a custom vinyl wrap made. We'll see how that goes when we try it out on this bike. It'll be nice to get graphics made in whole or in part when it comes to fixing crash damage as opposed to trying to repaint or match paint. And a I have a new found appreciation for Vortex. I had left an after hours message last night checking on getting some custom sprockets made for these new Dymags. Was I ever surprised when I got a call from Vortex at 0800 hours this morning and they were cutting my sprockets before they had finished getting my payment info over the phone. Shipped today! Best customer service - EVER! I'll never use any other sprocket.

mossrider
Wife come at me today, something about "quit spending so much time & money on those stupid racebikes". So I backed ole HunnerDollar outta the garage, started cleaning it up for spring and grabbed the accessories catalog. Never has a woman shut up so fast. Back to racing.

mossrider
Body shop called already and said come get this stuff, so I did. Looks good in classic white. Now a graphics kit or something and I think we're gooderest. Not sure about the fender. Paint it? Or no? Ideas___________

Ideas___________ I don’t mind the black fender. I like the satin finish and texture, it matches the rear chain / mud guard nicely. I got the same one for mine, I was going to wrap it with vinyl, but it doesn’t stick to that texture well, that’s why I wrapped the sides of my original fender. You’ll probably have to paint it if you want to change the color. E_E Yep, looks like Yamaha made it from the same material as the airbox then textured it to prevent me from monkeying with it; or so they think...

Tell me more about the crank position sensor. I’m hooking my Bazzaz harness back up and was confused about an single dangling unplugged 2wire connection at the upper front left of the bike. Looking at the wiring diagram I can’t figure it out. Ended up plugging the harness into these which might be the crank sensor. Well, the bike starts and runs. I know the bodywork is very close to the front tire now when mounted in the stock holes position.
mossrider
Well the Road America round is officially a 'Go' the end of this month and I've assembled a team of the finest pittards in the business. We'll run this round as a 2 bike team so I can get it adjusted to it's new owner and get the suspension dialed in. Our plan is to run nose to tail right to the front of the grid. What could possibly go wrong, right? The bike is done, The best thing that could happen now is he beats us on it while beating on it. I think we're in deep trouble. What I do know is that we're gonna have a GREAT time finding out! Sorry in advance to all the other competitors that will have their dreams shattered and go home wabbing, lol. BLR Edit: added a strobe,
mossrider
Not bad for hand cutting the graphics, turned out nicely. I had the lettering done by All Out Graphics. They always do a nice job, are reasonably priced and are next day fast. The 3D work for wraps and full graphics turned out to be prohibitively expensive for a race bike. I think this old school simple look is tight.

It is, and I like the touch of the BLR sticker almost out of sight, but it caught my eye right away. Don't get me wrong I think the Vet2track.org is an awesome idea and Im glad its getting the maximum visually on the bike. Great idea. It also leaves some space for others that are willing to pay for their logo on the bike. I just thought the BLR was a nice touch. Man would I like to ride that beast.
