Dna stg 2 lid

Hello guys, wanted to ask if anyone have 3d printed the stage 2 lid for the dna filter and if it needed some adjustments with a 3d program or was it a straight fit? I noticed that the groove is not the exact design like i have drawed in the photo, the dna filter groove ends are straight lines but in the 3d model they are "splined".

The 3d model is this: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3061107

I don't think it would be a problem. If it doesn't fit exact you could take a dremel and manually straighten the groove on the printed lid. It's not really sealing anything on top of the filter it's most likely just an alignment tab.

I designed and printed one for my bike using FreeCad and cura slicer for my Ender 3. Mine is for the K&N filter which doesn't have that lip on it it's just smooth on top so I didn't bother adding a groove in the bottom of my designed lid I just left it flat. The oval hole came out just a little bit too large on my design width was perfect though. I'm gonna run it. I'll go back in later and fix it sometime so it matches the filter inlet perfectly.

Yeah I don't like leaving prints un attended either. Mine took about 7 hrs to print. I usually do my printing on the weekends when I'm at home. I start the print and make sure the 1st layer sticks good then I go do other stuff and periodically check in on it.

Turned out that the 3d model grooves are not the exact shape for my dna filter but i modified it after it finished printing and it was a charm. I sanded and smoothed the intake as much as i could and i fitted it with no problems. Only thing i was worried was the tube that was connected to the diaphragm, i had no idea what to do with that so i let it alone. Do you know if there will be any problem with that tube ? Anyhow it was a nice afternoon time passing, i enjoyed the whole proccess. I will see how it feels tomorrow!

Looks nice. If your snorkel had the diaphragm and flap the tube is a vacuum hose which could probably just be plugged with a bolt or screw and hose clamp but I would research it first, my bike didn't have one. If the answer is to plug that line off, you could trace it to it's source and cut the hose shorter and plug it right where it comes out of so it's out of the way under the seat.

Exactly in the first post i show where they are off. In the end i just cut off the protrudes on the filter since i didn't want to re print again, took 9 hours to finish it.

Ahh perfect thank you! Some how I missed it.

I made a version of the dna lid and wanted to be sure it will not have them same problem.
