Chris68
Hey so I have been riding my 2015 fz07 the bike will randomly turn of at a light while the clutch is fully engaged it happens randomly wondering what this could be. While riding the bike there is no issue no lag, sputtering or rough idle. I checked the battery no issues there any ideas what it can be ?! Triple Jim
Welcome to the board Chris! So you're saying when you're stopped in neutral with the clutch engaged (released handlebar lever) it randomly stalls, correct? Does it stall as if you turned off the ignition switch, or does the RPM slow gradually?
sweetscience
How many miles, and what hasn't been done to the bike in terms of routine maintenance? For example check air filter, valve clearance, spark plugs, throttle body sync, clean throttle body, etc.

Hey so yes it stalls as if I turned of the ignition switch it does not gradually slow the rpm’s. it typically happens when I am completely stopped

I was reading up that it can possible be the throttle bodies that need to be synced or spark plugs.
sweetscience
Well the valves aren't due till 42K. Start with basic maintenance, and check for leaks and cracks at the fuel line, breather hose. If that don't fix it, next are sensors like MAP sensor, fuel pump.

Okay sounds I will try that appreciate the reply might be the map sensor there’s an aftermarket m4 exhaust. I don’t have any CEL on either. Give the bike history, any problems when you acquired, aftermarket engine or eletrical mods (flashed, powercomander). Then tell us, the bike has been running fine, then I (had serviced, installed accessories, added parts/,mods etc). When it typically happens and what else (conditions) has it happened. What changes if any have you made... Give the guys this kind of clear description of all the circumstances and conditions, will increase the odds you'll get successful help here. And welcome to the forum.

And welcome to the forum. Hey I appreciate the tip !. The only problem is I was given the bike by a family member the owner had actually passed away so I am pretty limited in the actual history of maintenance of the bike ! All I know that has been done were basic info such as the oil changes being done, chain being lubed and the air filter being changed. For aftermarket parts all I can see is that the exhaust has been changed and there is no power commander, the ecu has also not been flashed. So in terms of services done I am not completely sure I has inquired if they had any prior paperwork but haven’t been able to obtain anything. Global Moderator Pursuvant Posted August 10 Global Moderator Share Posted August 10 Ok, we will go with this. Tell us, if the bike has ever run fine/ has been running fine, then I (had serviced, installed accessories, added parts/,mods etc ANY CHANGES) and then the problem started. Looking for a connection to anything else that recently happened with the bike. Then we look for scheduled maintenance items that are coming due. Your said when the bike dies, it's electrically an "instant" event like the kill switch was pressed, rather than idle rpm starts bouncing or sliding lower until quits. That's telling... tuning and tuneup items/weakening battery less likely
Triple Jim
Or an interlock switch somewhere acting up in some odd way.
Premium Member cornerslider Posted August 11 Premium Member Share Posted August 11 Maybe check the connections on the tip-over sensor, or maybe the sensor itself is loose?.... It's in the tail section, below the passenger seat. Good luck- ""W.O.T. until you see god, then brake"

It's in the tail section, below the passenger seat. Good luck- There is always the possibility the battery reaching towards a failing state creating some computer chaos. But I think it's going to be one of more safety sensors not playing in concert with the bike reality. At 90K+ miles and I can't remember having any switch failure - except just recently replaced the gear position sensor. Chris, follow these guys they are in the best brains group on fz07... And keep us updated we want to know how you are work'in it
