Crou17
Hello all, I'm currently hitting a wall with this issue. Currently I have a 2016 FZ07 and now can not start the bike. I did have the 5d__12 code pop up but has since cleared. When I hit the ignition there's just a click from the starter relay. After reading through the forums I have changed out the relay x2 and changed/charged the battery x2. I have also checked the stator which seems to be working properly. I can bump start the bike and can ride it just fine. As soon as I cut it off, it will not start back up. Please, any info on what is wrong or what I could do would help. Triple Jim
It seems that a bad starter motor or the connections to it are possibilities.
Premium Member Evill_Ed Posted September 26 Premium Member Share Posted September 26 Could be a bad ground or poor connection. Check all connections at battery terminals. Is everything connected and tight? Do you have a volt meter? On DC Volts, check power at the battery, with probes on + and - what is the voltage? What is it when you press the start button? Check at the Starter, When you press the start switch, do you have 12+ volts at the starter? It is going to require testing and diagnostic work to identify the issue or part. sweetscience
Sd_12 (Self diagnosis code 12) refers to the crankshaft position sensor. In the manual sec 8-139. Located and connected with the stator. Disconnect the sensor from the wire harness and check for a resistance in the field of 228-342 Ohms. Positive probe to the gray wire. Negative probe to the black wire. Unfortunately, the CPS is built with the stator coil, forming the stator coil assembly. So if one part fails, the whole assembly needs to be replaced. How many miles on the bike?
