Any possibility of finding a Ktech shock on a discount?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering for those of you who've purchased the Ktech Razor Lite shock, how did you buy it? And were you able to get any discounts?

The only option I see is the Ktech site and one or two other sites for about the same price. Are there authorized sellers where I can buy locally/online for a discount?

Please share your experience.

If you want to get a shock at a discounted price, your only realistic options are through places like eBay or other types of similar marketplaces, which could include forums or groups where people sell their belongings.

Thanks. Yeah, I tried. It's just such a rare item and even rarer for someone to sell a good shock.

Are you in the US? I got mine from Bellisimoto. If you get yours from them, make sure you mention your rider weight. You get 5% rewards points and it's free shipping since it's above $200 I believe. No tax if you buy outside of Nevada.

Yeah, simple economics.  Low supply high demand prices usually aren't cut.

I lucked out here when one of the members put an Ohlins S46 shock up for sale.   He took it off the bike he was selling.  It was the base level Ohlins but far better than OEM for the ride.  Suggested $699,  selling for $350, I was scrambling to snag it!   That's how you'll have to do it.  Keep combing the right forums and be ready to buy if you see a price that suits you.  No haggling, because, as you have learned they are about as rare as chicken's teeth.  Happy hunting.

A little bit of luck and consistent searching pays off. I still kick myself in the head when I saw Vcyclenut sell his nitron cartridges and shock for just over 1k. I already bought ktech and emulators for 1k a month prior.

$539 is not all that bad a price for a good shock.   Ohlins would cost another $120.

I have a K-Tech Razor "lite" on my 2019 R3. Once properly set-up to my liking, it feels just like the K-Tech Razor "RR" that's on my 07. If I could do it over again, I would have saved the extra $300 I spent on the "RR", and gone with the "lite" on my 07 😎-

@cornerslider and for probably 99% of us riding the MTs, XSRs, and R7s the lower cost shock, like the Razor Lite would serve us well.    That's why I was so tickled getting the Ohlins S46, with only the rebound damping adjustable, was fine with me.   I still haven't really done any more than reducing preload and it is far better in function than the stock shock.   I know it's probably a better performer than I actually would use.
