If I ride my fz07 at least weekly do I need to use a battery tender in between rides or is that often enough to not need to? Or what's the longest I could go before I should consider using one?

You'll be fine if you ride once/week.  I've let mine sit for a month without a problem, and its battery is over 4 years old.
