NICKY NEON Posted August 1, 2015 Share Posted August 1, 2015 im kind of new to street riding i bought a modular gmax 54. fits good little warm but we are getting upper 80 heat here in upstate ny and im sure everywhere else it hot too. i like the back light on the helmet for night ridding. btw are modular helmet as good (safe) as full face helmet? Going from a cheaper Gmax modular. What a difference! So much lighter and my head doesn't get flung around on the highway. Field of view dramatically improved. Feels much safer too. riding4fun Posted August 21, 2015 Share Posted August 21, 2015 Arai signet GT I was at a motorcycle shop and the aria rep was there so he fitted me with three different models of Arai. Each model has a different shape to fit different shaped skulls. The signet GT was a perfect match. IMO never buy a helmet just because it looks cool, make sure it fits your head correctly. I have a couple Arai's, and I also bought a cheap HTC with the retractable inner sunshade. It's nowhere near as comfortable as the Arai, but it's nice to have that sunshade when I need it. Premium Member dony Posted August 25, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted August 25, 2015 I recently purchased a Shoei Gt air Regalia, a local store was selling them for $499 so I upgraded from a cheap Bell. The fit and comfort is second to none. It is so air tight fogging was a huge problem until I installed the pin lock visor that came with it and now 100% no fogging. Then I realized that my (cheap from e-bay) AGV Miglia was over four years old. Time for a new helmet. I spent more than I wanted (but less than the cost of the exhaust I liked ) and got a Shoei Neotec. I will report when it gets here. Well I ended up getting neon from motorcyclegear.com 169.00 to my front step,and so far I am pretty happy with the fit (XL fits snug usually wear L) sun visor works great and the shield its a breeze to operate while riding,if all vents are open it gets little noise but bearable closing top two vents quiets it down.Another point to add is the neon sticks out,I notice people see me much better then when I was using my all black shoei.
