Beemer Posted December 18, 2018 Share Posted December 18, 2018 Me, personally, with the way I ride ( leisurely ) some of the less expensive tires work just fine. I got the older Dunlop Roadsmart II tires for cheap and they're wearing as good as more expensive tires that I've had and they grip well enough for regular riding. So, at least when they wear out they don't cost me as much. You really don't need the best tire on the market if you're not pushing the tire real hard. With the different ways many people have of analyzing and judging tires and not knowing how and where they ride you're probably better off just doing what most do, > trial and error and decide for yourself what's best for you. scotto Posted December 25, 2018 Share Posted December 25, 2018 From what I've heard and read you can't go wrong with PR4's and the PR5's are suppose to be even better. They are expensive but last a long time and are great in the rain. I can't wait to get my hands on a set of Metzler Roadteh 01's. They're suppose to be a step up from PR's. Better handling and equal in the rain and just as long lasting. About $30-40 cheaper for a set too. Just what I've read in tire comparisons, no real world experience. I'll probably go Pilots when they come due. I don't ride as much as I'd like to, so I'll likely need to replace for age before I'd have to replace for mileage. Haven't had any issues with them in all forms of weather and temps. I currently have about 10,550 miles (~16,980 km) on them and should see another 5,000 miles (~8,000 km) out of them by the time I reach the wear indicators.
