EXTREME Track Modifications, or, FZ07 Down

Since I've been scraping that right peg so much I decided to just break it off.

And bend the rear brake lever in.

And get that front brake lever out of the way too.

And sand the rough spots on my crank case.

And that Vagabond frane slider was sticking out too far, too, so I ground it down.

And smashed the bike into a guard rail.

And hey why not, my body, too.

Bend the handlebars, slice the front brake lines, and shred a fork seal. And who needs plastic?

Shit, who needs happy painless knees and elbows for that matter?

I'm fine. Was a little banged up but all good. Mostly bummed for the bike.

THANK YOU to all of the angels who helped me right after the crash.. Randy, Jennifer and her man, and especially CARLOS the cyclist who was some kind of incredible hulk and helped get the bike unwedged from underneath the guard rail that had me and the bike pinned.

Carlos asked that I pass on this message:
Please respect bicyclists on the roads we share!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And thank you all my guardian spirits who protected me from getting totally mangled by oncoming traffic!

And thank you to the wonderful man who is helping walk me through the insurance and dealership shenanigans like a pro ;) You know who you are!!!

And sorry bikey bike for not listening to you better. I will keep learning and growing and we'll be back in action in no time.
Better and brighter.

Good to hear you are mostly OK! Bikes can be replaced, much harder with bodies.

As a daft veteran of a number of crashes, more than 50 broken bones plus various nerve and soft tissue damage, I can only hope that you will be a much quicker learner than me. That means slowing just that little bit that makes the difference between KNOWING you will be all right and HOPING you will be all right. It took me over 25 years of riding just to contemplate the idea and another decade to complete the required transformation of my actions.

The road is not a fun place to crash. Glad you came out OK. Is the bike fixeable? Often armco and bike straightness are incompatible. Please tell me you were wearing high protection clothing and footware...
As a very long time cyclist ( mostly mtb off road nowdays) as well as a long time motorcyclist, I can easily say that most motorcycle riders in this country ( Aussie) are excellent with cyclists on the road. Car drivers not so much. Maybe a " we are in this together against the inanity of car drivers" type  relationship.

Go forth and modify my son...go forth and modify...

Glad you're alright. That's how you do it, get back in the saddle and ride. Take care!

Well accepted crescentwrench. Walking, talking and all those lovely fleshy bits and pieces are still where they should be after something like this? Cant really ask for much more than that.

All the best in a speedy recovery and to jumping back in the saddle again to even the score. (:))
