Blumski33
HELP! Im looking for a black mesh screen like the OEM screen in the side panel (17' Fz-07). I have a side vent I want to put on but it came with this cheap ass looking mesh screen. I cant seem to find a screen that matches the OEM screen. Does anyone know where I can find this? I have checked hardware stores and auto parts stores as well as online searching. I need one I can cut to size, the space is larger than the one pictured. PS - Sorry about the bug guts, baby needs a wash.
topazsparrow
I think it comes with the plastics from the factory. Might have to replace the OEM plastic to get an exact match.
Blumski33
I dont need to replace this exact piece, I'm just looking to use a similar or same screen type for another part. There has to be something out there in the interwebnet!
mick97702
Or order these. They are larger holes but are more rigid. https://www.ebay.com/p/2015-Yamaha-Fz-07-Steel-Mesh-Air-Intake-Covers-White/1428808247?iid=271545400851&chn=ps&ul_ref=https%3A%2F%2Frover.ebay.com%2Frover%2F1%2F711-117182-37290-0%2F2%3Fmpre%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fwww.ebay.com%252Fp%252F2015-Yamaha-Fz-07-Steel-Mesh-Air-Intake-Covers-White%252F1428808247%253Fiid%253D271545400851%2526chn%253Dps%26itemid%3D271545400851%26targetid%3D478262894535%26device%3Dm%26adtype%3Dpla%26googleloc%3D9033789%26poi%3D%26campaignid%3D1489270473%26adgroupid%3D57569192116%26rlsatarget%3Dpla-478262894535%26abcId%3D1139326%26merchantid%3D7869184%26pt%3D%26gclid%3DCj0KCQjw9ZDeBRD9ARIsAMbAmoYN1i5jT-uE3BJfnEF0I5cN9K0FY0f7T93CM1uYH5Sy_pIoCroL2LQaApt8EALw_wcB%26srcrot%3D711-117182-37290-0%26rvr_id%3D1705633629177%26rvr_ts%3D7a698ff41660ad482a54b2cdfffce5b6
Mad
To be a perfect match you have to change the oem but that means that you can choose what you like and be ready for an other piece that needs a mesh

I'm not sure I really like the look, but I think you are right, I'll just have to suck it up. Meh.

Mad
Being a flat mesh will be easy to create a new one and you could do the same for the rear
Global Moderator sorkyah Posted October 17, 2018 Global Moderator Share Posted October 17, 2018 just get enough to do what your doing and then remove the inserts and make new ones... there are several places that sell expanded/flattened aluminium in all shapes and sizes. take another search, there are probably a few local metal suppliers around you too. ATGATT... ATTATT, two acronyms I live by.
Blumski33
Meh, it came out ok I guess. I think Ill end up replacing all the screens, but for now, it will just have to do. Global Moderator sorkyah Posted October 18, 2018 Global Moderator Share Posted October 18, 2018 i think the hex actually looks better anyway. more open area = more air flow. are those the Ermax Scoops? Yeah, they are Ermax. The hex is growing on me, but I cant get over the two different screens (stock vs. Hex). I think I'm going to go all hex and see how it looks.
