poida
Hi all, I've got some new HEL brake lines that i need to install, is there a process to which i need to flush/bleed the ABS system? The Hayes manual states the ABS system needs to be pulsed via the yamaha diagnostic tool, is it possible to do this without the tool? Any tips to fill/bleed the system? Bike is a 2015 MT-07 ABS. thanks
Premium Member norcal616 Posted December 3, 2018 Premium Member Share Posted December 3, 2018 IIRC you need the Yamaha Code Scanner to "cycle" the ABS system... 2015 fz-07- Hordpower Edition...2015 fj-09- 120whp- Graves Exhaust w/Woolich Race Kit- tuned by 2WDW
no-lag
you can do it manual. Pump Lever 5 times, HOLD Lever. open banjo/close banjo, release lever. repeat. dont need a scanner.
cyow5
You cannot bleed the full system without the scanner or without engaging ABS (with a car I'd just suggest a gravel road, but on a motorcycle that heavily depends on the rider). With that being said, you shouldn't introduce air to the ABS side by just changing the brake lines outside of it. As long as you don't get air into the ABS circuit, then a traditional bleed will work fine.
