Hi all, I've had my 2018 xsr700 for almost a year now.

Punched a hole in sump cover and dented headers snapping this pic....

Upgrades are ongoing

Welcome! I really wanted an xsr700 when i bought my fz07, but they werent available yet at the time. I love the silver. Sorry about the boo boo on the bike. It looks like youve taken advantage of that situation tho lol. Is that the Zard exhaust? Ive heard em in videos and really like the raspy sound. Looks great on your bike bud!

Thanks! It *is* a Zard and I can only recommend it. Their customer service was able to hook me up with a custom end cap. Boo boos are patched and bash plate and sliders are fitted! Just waiting on a longer rear shock and i can fit my 19" front wheel and I'll be ready to try it again!

Have you mocked any of this up yet? I know on the FZ with a link the chain rubs badly on the swingarm with only about 12mm longer shock due to increased swinger angle. Also, depending on the exhaust, the swingarm can hit the hanger bracket when you add swinger angle.

Kinda sorta. The fellas at tfx in the Netherlands wouldnt ship till they had an mt/xsr in hand. I've been thinking about going to 17 on the front sprocket anyway. Worst case I'll carry a pack of spare chain guides to replace as they wear out 😛

*On sale or second-hand
**modified or non-stock spec

The Bashplate wouldn't fit around the Zard exhaust, and the centerstand was lengthened to take the +50mm lift. The fork cartridges were lengthened by 20mm. The rear shock lengthened by 36mm. The extra 14mm was made up by shaving down the OEM dogbone. The Zard Exhaust has a couple of endcaps in the example pics, but only one option on ordering. I asked if they could give me the single-tubed meshed endcap in an email and they were happy to oblige.

I wanted to go with tubeless wheels, but woody's didn't have the spec on the XSR hubs. Cognitomoto on the otherhand did spoked conversions, but not tubeless, plus they were willing to sell the hubs separately. *TAKE THIS OPTION* They also offered to build the rims themselves for cheaper, but at 2.15" front width versus Woody's 2.5". Turns out Excel does not make rims with safety beads at narrower than 2.5". I almost had to buy 2 front wheels or deal with tubes only on the front. Luckily I talked to Devin the shop owner at Cognito Moto and he violated store policy in order to make things right. I absolutely recommend working with him whenever possible, stand up dude, seriously. Woody's has some special connections that allow them to offer rims other folks can't get a hold of, and they really know what they're doing. Just send them hubs and let them do the rest.

I'm not gonna review each item individually, but if you have questions, please let me know!

In the meantime, I'll be in the mountains.
