I cut off the inner thick collar for better fit. FZ07R WaNaB Posted June 9, 2019 Share Posted June 9, 2019 I switched to the OEM R6 throttle which comes with the R6 grip glued to the tube. I rode it for about a 1000 miles with both the R6 and FZ tubes on the bike before I switched the FZ tube (clutch side) to the R6 tube as I ultimately liked the R6 tubes better - grippier! But for the life of me, I can't get the glue to keep em stuck Glue em on a Friday, leave it all weekend and Monday go to ride and halfwy through, the grip will start to slip ATGATT... Iirc the "adventure" form, but they're all pretty similar. Comfortable and heated. Necessary as a Canadian winter rider, but I find I use them quite a bit otherwise. The warmth is good on long rides where your hands can get sore, and keeps your hands warm if the weather should suddenly turn. Nice to have warm (though wet) hands when you get caught in a rainstorm. Zephyr Posted June 13, 2019 Share Posted June 13, 2019 Got a set of Protaper pillow tops. Haven't installed them yet. Just holding them in the hand - they are certainly grippy. The R6 throttle tube grip is a bit small for me, so I'm hoping that these will bring the diameter back up to allow for a gentle grip. I have to wrap my finger down so far on the R6 tube, that I'm so deep into the grip it begins to be fatiguing and "over-gripping" the throttle. I used headliner spray on glue for mine. It doesn't bond real strong like some other glues and shouldn't be too hard to take off later. I went with the gray/black pro grip dual density grips. Had em about 2500 miles now. Wear is decent. They are super grippy. I like em a lot. I only wish my tires had as much grip as these lol.
