Premium Member cornerslider Posted July 15, 2019 Premium Member Share Posted July 15, 2019 I removed the kickstand from my bike last year. I “temporarily” safety wired the safety switch to part of the frame. I’m looking for a more permanent solution to remove the switch entirely. What are folks here doing? Any help would be appreciated, thanks- ""W.O.T. until you see god, then brake"
mossrider
Just now, cornerslider said: I removed the kickstand from my bike last year. I “temporarily” safety wired it to part of the frame. Any help would be appreciated, thanks- Just unplug the switch itself (lower portion by the kickstand), loop the upper part back on itself then tape it to the frame rail out of the way. Bike will run kickstand on the bike in up or down position, or if kickstand is simply removed all together. Thanks, just for clarification, it looks like I need to remove some screws to disconnect the wires on the switch itself. Is that correct? I tried unplugging the black plastic electrical connector (above the left case). All that accomplished was give the bike a "false-positive", and kill the bike.... mossrider
Take this; Off the kickstand whether you keep the stand or not. Clip the connector off the end and wire the ends together like this: Now plug 'this' back into 'that' and conceal it to a frame rail. Done.
