Johnfrancisjfk
Do you think there will be bike bargains to be had further down the road as a result of the medical emergency? what were the best bargains in 2008? (The last crisis)
MiniFZ
I think it depends on how bad the economic downturn ends up being. I think it’s 50/50 at the moment.
Johnfrancisjfk
The reason it came into my head was a bike reviewer on YT mentioned a Honda 600 rr bought in 2008 could sell about 7 years later for the same money, I think that’s the model? Premium Member cornerslider Posted March 25, 2020 Premium Member Share Posted March 25, 2020 My advise.... Buy the bike you WANT, and don't worry about the money. I've owned bikes for 12 years, and only lost $350. I've also owned bikes for 2 years, and lost several thousand dollars.... You can't pick the timing, or predict the market. You might as well get the bike you like, and just enjoy it - 4 ""W.O.T. until you see god, then brake"

Beemer
Depressions are great for buying things cheap, I would wait awhile and see what happens with this Corona Virus scare. Beemer
Johnfrancisjfk
I agree, I reckon there will be bargains to be had, I like all styles of bikes so open minded on a purchase, see what happens.
rfmueller
If the COVID-19 does, in fact, cause unemployment to skyrocket, there will be a lot of defaulted bike loans. Bummer for those guys that have to give up their bikes. I hate paying interest on loans so I buy with cash, but, Yes, used bikes will very likely drop in price. You could save a few hundred. I work at a factory that makes COVID-19 diagnostics packets so I have to look at the world-wide statistics on the virus all day long. If you want some factual information rather than media BS-hype, write privately. Good luck with bike shopping. (The last crisis) This crisis is gonna make the 2008 crisis look like a walk in the park. While Trump thinks this will all be over in a couple of weeks, that is not going to be the case. Yes, i think there will be bike deals to be had. As the dealers file bankruptcy there will be a lot of Bike auctions. 1 Yamaha MT-10 ForumYamaha Tracer 900 Forum Yamaha Ténéré 700 Forum
