rainpants
Hi guys, i’ve had my mt07 motocage for nearly 2 years and put 18k miles on it, wicked bike! Does anyone know if you can remove the factory bar ends that hold the lever covers/ hand shields? I would like to put some bar end mirrors on but i can’t seem to be able to remove them.. do I have to change the handlebars? Thanks!
Triple Jim
Hi rainpants, welcome to the board! Someone here probably knows the answer, but I'm not very familiar with that model. Posting a couple good photos of the bar-ends might help. You probably know, but the standard FZ ones just unscrew from the female threads in the ends of the bar, using an 8mm Allen wrench. Triple Jim
Do your bar ends have 8mm hex sockets in them?

Triple Jim
I'm just guessing based on the photo, but I'd think if you put a big wrench on those flats and gave a mighty counterclockwise twist, it would unscrew.

Now to figure out a way of putting bar end mirrors in as the bars aren’t as long as the grips without those adapters in them…
Triple Jim
Have you seen the screw-in adapters from rhinomoto.com? They're not cheap, but they're very nicely machined. The silver colored ones are actually solid stainless steel. They're not cheap though. Maybe someone is making some copies.
