I installed my Flexi-Glass Bodywork this week. The Flexi-Glass is some of the nicest quality glass that I have and worked with. Also Trev is a plaeasure to do business with.

I installed the bodywork with Robem's kit which is also great quality and fit.

Actually, everything fit the first shot. The only trimming I need to do will be for the frame sliders, I just need to make to cresent shape reliefs in the upper fairing.

I used Cam-Loc Series 4000 fasteners to attach the upper and lower fairings. These are adjustable. The base has a threaded insert that can be set to the correct depth and then locked in with a spring clip. This is a nice set up for fiberglass or other composites where the thickness can vary from location to location, Each fastener if the perfect length for each location.

There is also a ton of room around my Akra - Ti exhaust.

I need to remove my old Woodcraft FZ clip-ons and install my new Woodcraft standard clip-ons.

So far I am really pleased with the fit, finish and results.

Holes drilled for base and countersunk for rivets. Note the nice wide flange width.

That's nice work. I'm trying to figure out the tank, it looks OEM. Cool stuff going on around the place. I'm curious what your going to do for a seat, Gas cap? Also what fasteners did you use to mount the windscreen to the upper? @Evill_Ed

Dave.

Hey Dave, The tank cover is a copy of the original with the front scoop section removed for clearnace. It fits well. I think I'm going to use the stock gas cap for now, I need the key for the ignition anyway. For a seat, I am looking at pads like these. I'll see which one is a close fit.

For the widshield I use the windscreen fasteners with the rubber sleeves. They compress when you tighten them, like a rivet, and stay secure.

It is for a Ram Air setup. Flexi-Glass is finishing up the design fot it.

It's designed for a stock style airbox.

I imagine the intake is offset so there will be room for regulation size numbers on the other side. The inside edge of the inlet seems to be centered, so it should get mostly the higher air pressure found at the front center of the bodywork. Yes, still a bit of a compromise.

Some more progress today.  I forgot I had bought a set of relocation brackets for the ECU and Regulator from TWF a few years ago. Got them  mounted up. Spent time unwrapping parts of the wiring harness to relocate the wires to reach the new locations.

The regulator bolts to the mount. The ECU will get a wide strip of velcro.

Also cleaned up the front wiring harness. Just dash and starter switch plugs going up to the fairing. The other leads for lights and signal switch were taped back on the harness and will be tucked by the frame under the fuel tank.

That's some nice brackets, my rectifier bracket looks like your ecu tray. For the ecu I cut up the oem and bent it back in on itself just for clearance and to keep the rubber band holder and tray. If I had known I would of just bought the ecu tray from TFW. I thought part of the point with flexiglass was that you didn't have to move them? No!

With the Flexiglass you do not have to move them, I only did because I already had the TWF brackets. I am not sure if I gained anything by doing so. 😏

Fair enough. I was wondering, because the day I made the decision to go with sharkskins over flexiglass will go down as not one of the best ones I've made. To be honest.

Dave.

These didn't work for me, they were compressing a little then the inner threaded piece that's supposed to stay inside the rubber just pulled straight through. This made them useless as they wouldn't hold the windscreen in place. I had to use the 4 screen screws that were on my MRA windscreen I used for the street. 🤦‍♂️

That's interesting. I just threaded them on lightly to hold the windshield in place for mock up. I'll let you know if I have any issues when I install it permanently.

Looks great, Ed. To put faces to names, you Jersey guys ever travel south to Summit Point or beyond? We could do a track day get together. I'm heading to NC Bike this weekend.

We have not been to Summit Point yet, but hope to get there and Pitt Race this season.  I will let you know when we plan to go.

Excellent! I'm heading to NC Bike this weekend. Its only a few hours away. Summit is about 6 hours for me, and a much better track. I'll at least make the September WERA weekend there and look to get some track time there before then.

So the full fairings seem to be good for approx. 8 mph on my bike. Last year I would top out at 116 mph on the front straight, this year I max out at 124 mph. No other mechanical changes other than the slipper clutch.

Aerodynamics seem to really work 😀

That's excellent Ed. Perhaps you're also getting out of the last corner a bit faster as well?

I think I am coming onto the straight from the last corner at similar speeds to last year. I'll have to look at old videos to compare.

Where'd you get these? I am currently doing what you are, but I don't have those brackets.
