lowspeed_highdrag
Hi all, I went to jump my 2018 MT07 and stupidly was not paying attention when I put the cables on. I never started either vehicle, but heard a loud whine for a few seconds before taking the cables off and realizing my mistake. I blew a 30A fuse and my battery, which I promptly replaced both. Now, my dash turns on but shows "ERR" in the top left. I know I need to get a code read on it, but what am I looking at having to replace here? I am assuming I destroyed my ECU. Is there anything else I need to look at replacing to get my poor bike moving again? Thanks.
Triple Jim
Previous threads seem to say that other fuses probably also blew. Checking all of them and replacing any that blew is likely to fix your problem.
shinyribs
The good news is you'll never do it again! I did this on a Polaris once. Once. You never touch a battery again without remembering that day In my case I blew the reg/rec out of it, but there's really no telling. Definitely inspect every fuse carefully. I wouldn't go worst case scenario just yet.
