Codewaves
Hi, Does anyone knows how the fork oil flow stopper(plastic tube with the spring on the bottom of the fork) works? Does it stay on the bottom or moves with the inner tube? I’m planning to install Ohlins cartridges and in their installation manual they say that spring inside the stopper must be left in place. But I don’t understand why it is needed without the damper rod.
twf
It stays on the bottom. Spring is to keep it centered on damper rod. Same with Öhlins, need to be centered so tube does not hit it. Another option is to just take it out and not use it. It is hydraulic lock so you don't bottom forks metal to metal but if you got spring rate right you should not be bottoming hard and don't need it.
