Am I missing something or did the previous owner replace the handlebars?

Recommended Posts

I bought a used 2017 and seller gave me the OEM bar weights and some other parts. When I tried installing them, I noticed that they don't fit in and didn't even have threading. This seemed unusual as the outer diameter seemed perfect but the inner looks too narrow.

The handlebars also feel identical to my old MT03, so I thought they were Yamaha stock.

Am I missing something or did he replace the handlebars?

The stock handlebars should be threaded.  I'm not sure if the first gen bikes use steel or aluminum bars.  The second gen uses steel.

If yours are aluminum then the bike just shaved some weight.  As long as you're not getting annoying vibrations to your hands or arms, then it's all good.

Bars are 31.Eight and I assume the cables run in an external groove along the bars and no longer certainly "in" the bars.
