Premium Member ericpev Posted January 24, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted January 24, 2015 Hey guys. I'm breaking my new baby in and sticking to the manual procedure of not staying over 5000 for the first 600mi. This means I've been cruising at 4-4500. Does that sound about right? No where near lugging correct?
YZEtc
That's OK, although with my bike I just rode it as I felt like.
CrazeGER
dont ride over 5k rpm for too long. short overtakes with 7 or 8k rpm are ok. just dont try to kill her BUT always ride a bit until the motor gets warm Greetings from germany Visit me on Youtube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcU_3J3y9lyDXENL-cMqLmw Visit me on Facebookhttps://www.facebook.com/mtertainment0709
Premium Member ericpev Posted January 24, 2015 Author Premium Member Share Posted January 24, 2015 Always a source of debate haha. Dealer said i don't need to baby her and to just ride how I normally would but I'm never sure. I guess Im more concerned about what's considered "lugging" on these. Thanks guys
Global Moderator mjh937 Posted January 24, 2015 Global Moderator Share Posted January 24, 2015 The big thing that everyone can agree on is to vary the rpm's. Avoid running at the same revs as much as you can.
Premium Member grahamfz07 Posted January 24, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted January 24, 2015 My dealer told me to run it through the rpm range, just dont drive it like i stole it for the break in period.
