Have you replaced those goofy looking radiator side-covers?  Binned the black, textured piece(s) on the sides of your gas tank?  If so, and you'd care to part with them, I might have a use for them.  Please, pm me here with cost and where located (Lower 48, please... to control shipping cost).

Those "floating" radiator side-covers have bothered me since I first set eyes on the 07 and I finally got a couple long-term projects well enough under control I can deal with the 07, again.  So, I'm making "connecting" covers between the radiator covers and the like textured gas tank pieces.  I can simply do them in "folded" aluminum but I'd prefer to have it all textured alike, hence this request.

I appreciate any relevant parts you might have laying about with which you may care to part.  There were a couple vendors on ebay with such stuff, but never when I want it, hehehe!

Thanks!!!

The covers will be something like this rough, initial, cardboard mock-up if you're curious or just confused by my description.

I know I replaced mine. I just have to see if I saved them. If I did, I'll let you know.

I'll check tomorrow

Allen, which one do you have, please? Could you post a pic so I can see where damaged??? Thanks.   And, price, of course.

I'll have to piece together from a number of parts, I suspect.

Anyone else? Don't hesitate to chime in if you have anything. To find the shapes I need I'll probably have to have a number of "stock" pieces to play with. Thanks, again.

I'd not seen the Ermax scoops and I'm not sure what to make of them looking at the site pix. They cover more of the bike than I care to "hide" but may be readily modifiable. Part of the issue is that vendors never seem to provide much info about European aftermarket parts, nor what the paint colors might or might not match. But, I'll keep these in mind in a pinch, or if I decide to modify my basic, simple design. Thanks!!!

I have the ermax scoops in all white. I thought I was ordering the white and black ones but I'm actually very happy with what I got. Here is what they look like from the side and a straight view from the front.

Thanks for looking, djdiddles.

Darrooh, Thanks so much for the pix!!! Could you, please, tell me how the scoops are constructed, injection molded plastic, I presume? Or???
Are they fairly stout (rigid) or are they pretty flimsy (bendable), please? I'm asking because I'd have to modify them to eliminate all the aft, white "cover" behind the orange in your painted pic. That said, does it look like a person could just cut this part off leaving the orange and upper white sections intact and have them fit okay (looks like a retaining tab slips under the bottom of the side tank cover and then just uses the two stock fastener locations on each side)?
Oh yeah, one other thing, have the scoops affected the coolant temps?  They look like they could hinder airflow from the back of the radiator from the pix and I live where it gets into triple digits this time of year.

Many thanks, once more, gang!

Ermax Scoop Thread
found it, now that I'm on my desktop computer.
I don't know the forming process but i know they are ABS plastic, similar to that of the stock rear chain guard/hugger

@avanti it's pretty rigid, not sure how that would change cutting off the section you would want since it would really slim down that end. The tab does a good job holding it in place, I wasn't sure at first but after having it on for awhile and a couple speed runs to be sure they haven't moved. Also to note the ends it comes with a small rubber piece that clips on at the edge where you would want to cut. I assume this is to prevent it from rubbing parts but even without them it doesn't look that would be much of an issue

Oh, and I live in dallas, texas. I did not really notice any change in temps but it also is not something I kept a lookout for. When I'm moving it's usually somewhere between 176-186. When stopped for extended times or just moving really slow due to traffic it will rise up like normal till the fan kicks on.

Thanks again, darrooh. I may give these a shot since they don't cost that much anyway. I'm down I-20 East of ya a ways so our temps are comparable. Very helpful info!!!

***Update*** I just ordered a pair of these unpainted to modify--hopefully to suit.  More on this project as it developed.
I appreciate all the Forum member responses!!!

Well, a bit late to the party, sorry for the silence about the scoops! It's been a little busy over here...glad to see some other forum members helping out with the answers.

The scoops, covers, or whatever one chooses to call them are due to arrive by evening Wednesday. We seem to be about the last stop on UPS's daily route. Then, I can see exactly what I have to work with, in terms of modifications.

I appreciate the quick service, MOTOMACHINES!!!

Just shy of four years spent on the engine install pictured below (yeah, I know... not a bike; sorry). I've REALLY enjoyed the on-again/off-again brief bike interludes where I can actually buy parts instead of constantly having to fab them from scratch!!! Hehehehe! I'll post pix here, sorkyah, as soon as I can.

that looks an awful lot like a chromed out ls3 motor.... with a, I'm guessing twin turbo(?) setup but the throttle body looks to be off the 6.4l SRT hemi... I'm a bit confuzzled and aroused... this site is for bike porn not car porn :P
