Global Moderator mjh937 Posted October 23, 2014 Global Moderator Share Posted October 23, 2014 You do actually have a whole mile to come to a stop, but I know what you mean. 1,001 miles is definitely less photogenic .
njdevils1990
Haha, as sad as it may seem I usually plan my rides around it. With my last bike I took a trip to Florida in 10 days did 3,500 miles. Didn't bother stopping for them. 2003 Buell XB9R (2011-2011) Crashed 2009 Buell 1125CR (2011-2013) Sold 2015 Yamaha FZ-07 (2014-?) Current
njdevils1990
3,461-3,471 Odd story, yesterday (14th Nov.) We got snow in Central NJ. Around 7pm I was riding from my home to my girlfriend's, temps were around 36F/2C and it begain to snow half way to her house. Got there and parked the FZ outside under a tree. This morning I went to leave and had a few difficulties, 1st being the ignition lock was frozen, so I went and poured some warm water on the lock and was able to start the FZ up with little issue. After that I noticed the CEL was on, so i proceeded to get ready to leave. On the FZ I put into gear and my front brakes were frozen...back inside for more warm water. Finally unfrozen, I head back to my house. I noticed the CEL was off and didn't worry about it, thinking something might have been frozen and causing a false code. At a stop light I put the FZ into neutral and noticed the CEL came on but only when in neutral. Another symptom was an abnormally high idle (2,800-3,000RPM). I got home (10 miles/16km) and put the FZ into neutral again so i could open the garage door, CEL didn't come back on and idle was back to normal. Haven't had it come back on since. I will definitely have to invest in a bike cover (preferably one that is easy to transport. 2003 Buell XB9R (2011-2011) Crashed 2009 Buell 1125CR (2011-2013) Sold 2015 Yamaha FZ-07 (2014-?) stefano225
My guess could it be oil thickness ?
njdevils1990
I am scheduling my next service and the recall for the first week in December, I will have them run a thinner oil since I will be riding in temps between 10-50F(-12-50C) It's been 100 miles since then, and I haven't had it come back on. Coldest temp so far was 25F(-4C). 2003 Buell XB9R (2011-2011) Crashed 2009 Buell 1125CR (2011-2013) Sold 2015 Yamaha FZ-07 (2014-?) njdevils1990
So I finally passed the 4,000 mile milestone on my way home from work. I also had the 4,000 mile service completed allong with the recall; they were completed on the 3rd at a total cost of $211 (recall was obviously free of charge). Also set a temp milestone, coldest temp ridden in on the FZ-07 for me (21°F/-6°C). Bike gave me a little terrible starting up but after cranking over the motor twice she fired up. 2003 Buell XB9R (2011-2011) Crashed 2009 Buell 1125CR (2011-2013) Sold 2015 Yamaha FZ-07 (2014-?) Premium Member snowdriftless Posted April 20, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted April 20, 2015 For my 600 mile service I did the oil change at 590 miles and it is 9 miles from Home to work to the dealership. 600 mile service done at 599 miles , I wonder how closely I can replicate this through all the service intervals. P1: Vice? I have no vice, I'm as pure as the driven snow! P2: Yeah but you've been drifting All the gear all the time!

njdevils1990
Just dropped her off yesterday for the 8,000 mile service in preparation for the trip I'm taking with a few friends down to Florida on the 24th of this month. 2,402 mile round trip. Dealer said it should be around $300 for the service. then it will end up being back in next month for the 12,000 mile service after the trip haha. Tires are still going strong and should be good till about 14,000 miles. 2003 Buell XB9R (2011-2011) Crashed 2009 Buell 1125CR (2011-2013) Sold 2015 Yamaha FZ-07 (2014-?)
