mrmags
Hi everyone, What type of RAM Mount do you have? Reservoir? Fork stem? Mirror base? I'd like to avoid the U-bolt and Claw type mounts because they seem a little less secure to me (but if I'm totally wrong, I'd love to hear your experience.) Attach some pics! I removed/discarded my stock mirrors, so I was thinking it'd be cool to use the remaining mirror mount somehow. Does anyone know the bolt specs for the stock mirror so I can find a matching bolt? mrmags
I just found a thread that identified the mirror mount bolt specs:http://fz07.org/thread/1600/looking-bolts-original-mirror-mounts I will likely try to mount my RAM there... but still, has anyone else mounted their's elsewhere? motocr
I just found a thread that identified the mirror mount bolt specs: http://fz07.org/thread/1600/looking-bolts-original-mirror-mounts I will likely try to mount my RAM there... but still, has anyone else mounted their's elsewhere? I kept my mirrors and have my mount the ubolt one right beside the mirror base. Works very well for me. Don't forget to grab a tether if your using the xgrip mounts it's just extra security and for around 4 bucks why not. My experience is I just rode 4 hrs last night all highway average 75 mph with some 120 mph sprints in parts never had the phone move on the ubolt as it comes with nylon lock bolts if your worried torque them down with red thread lockers they will not budge. jerryv
I mounted mine on the handle bar .. right side. Handle bar mount, 1 inch ball and Xgrip. You should be able to see it here. http://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/ag212/Jerry_Vezzosi/11224890_10206440440182249_9068988986678914673_o_zpswmi18fjw.jpg
pineappleunderthesea
I got the universal mount RAM-B-174-UN7U and attached to the handlebars using the included U-bolt. Been on there for about 1000 miles no problem.
Premium Member fz07fanboy Posted November 28, 2015 Premium Member Share Posted November 28, 2015 I have the universal ram mount x-grip. Don't need a tether either because it's mounted sideways. It will never come out. All the rides and max speeds I've done with this thing and it's solid. http://s5.postimg.org/6eqf5uczr/IMG_20150419_WA0004.jpg on the second link, click through the pictures to see different views. I was mounting a Note 4 in a case. http://s12.photobucket.com/user/Paul_Anthony_Robinson/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20150513_184819_zpswfspjbw8.jpg.html

Gonna be using a universal ram mount myself.
