Premium Member panchobullet Posted April 21, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted April 21, 2016 Update 1 - After 3 months of use: Hey, thought to give you all a quick update after a few months of use. Shifter works flawless and don't have anything I can complain about it so far. I have been using it pretty much in a daily basis and I love it every single day specially when I go out with some friends for a group ride... Everyone loves how it works and how the bike sounds when changing gears with it and I'm pretty sure I'll start seeing more of them around now that I cleared the field as guinea pig So if you are still thinking about it stop doing so and go treat yourself a little bit and get one now! End Update 1 Lads & Gents! Finally, after a long wait I'll give you all my comments/thoughts on the Annitori QS Pro 2016 quick shifter that was installed in my beloved Dark-Y!. To "speed up" the process I made a couple of videos for you that I hope helps you decide if you will get this or any other quick shifter. But before going into the videos let me give you some information I was able to collect during my research that may be helpful for you as well. Quickshifter Options: There are a lot of different brands, types and prices that you can find online but in my opinion the Annitori QS Pro was the best "bang for the buck" available. I don't mean to say it's the best out there but when comparing prices, functionality & quality it was the best call for me and my set up. Here is a quick list of QS's that I "evaluated" during investigation time: - Annitori QS Pro 2016 - Price: US$273.33 (annitoriqs.com) - Upshift: Yes - Downshift: Yes - Configurable: Yes - HM Plus SS - Price: US$633.46 (hmquickshifter.com) - Upshift: Yes - Downshift: Yes - Configurable: Yes - HM Plus - Price: US$517.44 (hmquickshifter.com) - Upshift: Yes - Downshift: Yes - Configurable: Yes - Bazzaz QS4 - Price: US$441.00 (revzilla.com) - Upshift: Yes - Downshift: unknown - Configurable: Yes - HM Super Price: Lite - US$300.00 (hmquickshifter.com) - Upshift: Yes - Downshift: Yes - Configurable: No - Healtech Quickshifter easy (iQSE-1 + QSH-P2A) - Price: EU$289.00 (healtech-electronics.com) - Upshift: Yes - Downshift: No - Configurable: Yes - Dynojet Pressure Shift Sensor (PCV required) - Price: US$269.99 (powercommander.com) - Upshift: Yes - Downshift: No - Configurable: Yes Side note: Since I live in Chile in addition to the purchase price I needed to add overseas shipping cost & custom fees. Now, back to the Annitori QS Pro, the install process wasn't too complex but you will need around 1~2 hours to complete the process depending on how much experience you have taking your bike appart and putting everything together again. Here is the link to the video I made for you with an overview of the install process: MT-07/FZ-07 MotoVlog - Annitori QS Pro 2016 Install [English] About using (and/or abusing) the quick shifter itself, I'm absolutely loving it and having a lot of fun everywhere I go. Transitions from one gear to another are really smooth once you get used to it specially in the higher rev range. You can certainly shift at any rev range but from 1-2 and 2-3 you could feel a little "punch" effect when shifting under @6k_rpm. Anything above @6k_rpm is like a hot knife into butter. So, to avoid typing too much here you have the link for the "test & review" video: MT-07/FZ-07 MotoVlog - Annitori QS Pro 2016 Test & Review [English] I've to say that I was a little "nervous" doing the videos as they were my first ones in english so please excuse my mistakes as I know I made plenty I really hope you like my comments and videos and they help you decide if you would like to have one of these cute "toys" into your FZ's. Please feel free to ask any questions and I'll try to reply as soon as I can. Now, get out and ride your bike safetly! You've never seen me cause I'm too damn fast! randy2100
I've only had one of these for a few days, but have found that it likes to be shifted when the engine is trying to accelerate the bike due to throttle. This means you can clutch-less short shift as long as you're giving it enough throttle. I tried a downshift from 4th at 4000 rpm by grabbing the throttle and pushing the shifter and it was instant 3rd gear torque and acceleration! AlbatrossCafe
What exactly is "configurable" on a quickshifter? randy2100
What exactly is "configurable" on a quickshifter?Configurable would be if parameter can be changed by the user. These are common ones: Sensitivity to pressure on the shifter, kill time (spark shutoff), and whether it operates in push, pull, or both.

I tried a downshift from 4th at 4000 rpm by grabbing the throttle and pushing the shifter and it was instant 3rd gear torque and acceleration! Think this is the deal for any quickshifter. The higher you are in the revs, the smoother the shift generally. Shifting at low rpms will always be more clunky. On my Daytona I don't use the QS for any shift under 6k (and even that is a little clunky for the lower gears). Guessing for the F7 it'd be best to shift with the QS past 3k. trustydrip
Thanks for the review! On down shifts does it blip the throttle or something? Curious as to how that works.
randy2100
No blipping, no rev-matching. It does the same thing on upshift or downshift. It doesn't work so well if you are coasting, you need to be on the throttle so the engine is pushing the bike down the road. What happens is when you press up or down on the shifter, it momentarily cuts engine power and in the fraction of a second between the engine pushing and wheel drag pulling, the transmission pops into the new gear since the transmission is unloaded. It sounds just like a F1 car going through the gears!

Premium Member panchobullet Posted June 6, 2016 Author Premium Member Share Posted June 6, 2016 Did you adjust anything settings via the phone app or did you leave it alone after installing it???At first I just tested it as it was but after a day or use I experimented different settings to accommodate at my best feeling. Ended up leaving both directions with: Sensitivity: 70 Kill Time: 50 The manual/guide said do not mess with RFX value so that one I didn't change at all. - Pancho You've never seen me cause I'm too damn fast! randy2100
I have my sensitivity at 55 because I would get premature triggering before enough pressure was on the shifter. Lower sensitivity means higher pressure to activate the unit. cut/paste from the manual: Kill time – touch the number and a spinner will come up with all the kill time values in milliseconds. Choose the kill time you wish to enter. Sensitivity – touch the number and a spinner will come up with the options. A sensitivity of 10 means more pressure to activate the kill signal, 80 means very light. ** For almost all bikes you should be using sensitivity in the 50-70 range, with kill times in the 50ms to 60ms range. Over 60ms and shifts will be getting clunky, and below 50ms you are risking gearbox damage. Not that you cannot go there, you are in control of your choices. But just be very sure of what you are doing, and why you are doing it. It is your gearbox and we are not responsible for the settings you choose! Sensitivity is particular to your linkage, your bike, and your “feel”. In general, LESS sensitive is better (but do NOT grind your gearbox!) because this creates more preload on the selector drum, which brings the gears closer, which means a shorter kill time can be used. Premium Member norcal616 Posted June 9, 2016 Premium Member Share Posted June 9, 2016 Review... If you have not gotten one...get one ASAP... This should be a standard feature on the fz-07 ... I cannot get enough of the acceleration the lil fz-07 has now... Can't wait to take her down to the drag strip and see if I can get her under 12 secs for the 1/4mile...
