njdevils1990
This will be a little area for me to post/share pictures/talk about any rides I have done and are planning on doing in the future. I'll start off with today's ride to the Hawks Nest in New York. Trip distance 175 miles, average consumption 54mpg, two up with GF. We started in Flemington and ride to the Hawks Nest just outside of Port Jervis, NY then stopped at the Chatterbox on the way home for lunch. Overall a very comfortable ride for myself and about 10 times better than two up on the Buell Blast I was riding a few months ago. Tires were amazing (no surprise there) and the FZ handles two up as if you didn't even have a passenger at all. This is currently the longest trip I have done on the FZ and hopefully there will be many more long trips like this. I am still planning my day trip to Canada (850 mile round trip to Niagra Falls and Toronto) I am currently looking into GPS options for the bike, off anyone has suggestions let me know. I am currently looking at the TomTom Rider for $399. Some pictures from the Hawks Nest and Chatterbox. 3 2003 Buell XB9R (2011-2011) Crashed 2009 Buell 1125CR (2011-2013) Sold 2015 Yamaha FZ-07 (2014-?) Guest unknown
Nice ride man, I would use your smartphone as a GPS unit. Get a SENA and you get turn by turn right into your helmet. There is also a aux plug connection so you can hook up a USB port without having to tap into the wire harness for power.See this thread for details on what is needed for wiring up a USB port

Global Moderator Guru Posted August 21, 2014 Global Moderator Share Posted August 21, 2014 Wow, that is quite a ride. Looks like fun. Be sure to post pics of the falls, the Canadian side of course. And do the Maid of the Mist thing. It's funny to see all those people in blue rain coat bags. Like a boat full of blue penguins.
njdevils1990
I did the Maid Of Mist in 2005, its an amazing sight, and pretty inexpensive. I think its somewhere around $30cad. 2003 Buell XB9R (2011-2011) Crashed 2009 Buell 1125CR (2011-2013) Sold 2015 Yamaha FZ-07 (2014-?) njdevils1990
Rough draft of my cheat-sheet is complete for both to and from Niagra plus a possible side trip to the Hockey Hall Of Fame in Toronto. Total distance with Toronto is roughly 1,438km/891.6mi Total distance without Toronto is roughly 1,190km/737.8mi Now after work to type it up and add some visuals to aide off I need to look quickly for road and exit numbers, then back to work Monday to laminate it so I don't have to worry about rain as much. 2003 Buell XB9R (2011-2011) Crashed 2009 Buell 1125CR (2011-2013) Sold 2015 Yamaha FZ-07 (2014-?) Global Moderator Guru Posted August 23, 2014 Global Moderator Share Posted August 23, 2014 That is very impressive! It is going to be a great road trip I am sure. Too bad Toronto is as far as you will go. I would give you a free coffee (and maybe a cookie) if you made it all the way to Delta ON.
