peteinpa
Yeah, I've been spoiled by hydraulic Honda clutches for over 200k miles. This one is very abrupt and all the way at the end of the lever travel. Got new red 2015 FZ-07 on 7/22/16! Black 2006 Honda ST1300 53K miles.

Global Moderator Guru Posted May 16, 2017 Global Moderator Share Posted May 16, 2017 Am I the only one that kinda likes that their bike does this? I know what you mean. I kinda like it too, it's a mechanical, analog feel. But it's annoying when it is too much. But like I mentioned, a quick chain adjustment made it much better. rider
It's annoying, but apparently is normal. Every bike I've owned has done it on the 1st cold shift to some extent. You can sometimes eliminate it by: BEFORE starting the engine, shift to 1st, pull in the clutch lever and try to move the bike (rocking it back and forth works), until the bike rolls easily like it should with the clutch lever pulled in. Your clutch plates (which were stuck together from sitting) should free up. Shift back to neutral and start the bike. A bit of a pain, and I don't normally do it, but it usually works. tanner68
Sounds normal to me. I cringe a little and accept it.
