worty
I have to do my chain tension. The owners manual says to have it on the side stand but the shop manual I just picked of from my dealer says to have it on a stand so that the rear tires off the ground. My question is there much of a different by doing it either way?
faffi
Very little difference between resting on the sidestand and on a paddock stand, or between sidestand and centre stand. A little bit more difference between centre stand and paddock stand, but hardly enough to worry about on a light bike like the MT-07. The chain will tighten as the suspension is compressed. So you will need slightly more slack when adjusting the chain on a centre stand than on a paddock stand that hold the rear of the bike up. But again, the difference will be minute. Just remember that it is better to err on the slack side as a too tight chain will not only stretch unevenly, but can also cause the bearing for the output shaft to deform the engine cases and become lose. More common than one would think.
jbone
You can do it with the bike on its side stand.
