Premium Member DewMan Posted April 24, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted April 24, 2017 [strong]Is a simple stereo mini-plug helmet speaker set with inline volume control available that sounds decent?[/strong] I've been out of cycling for the last 20 years so I haven't kept up on the latest options in motorcycle audio. So I'm hoping y'all can offer some suitable speaker solutions. I've been looking online but not finding any useful options. I'm using the Shoei RF1200 full face helmet as my platform. I have a high quality portable audio player that allows me to listen to my FLAC (lossless audio format) tracks. My player has digital/line/headphone outputs. It does not support Bluetooth. I'd like to find a helmet speaker solution for my highway travels that preferably doesn't require batteries/charging but it wouldn't be a deal breaker. Call me old school. I don't even want to have my phone on when I'm riding... Whatever it is it can wait till I'm done riding so I really don't have use for all the options available on the Sena systems. Thanks for any experience you can offer. DewMan Just shut up and ride.

Premium Member Mr.Puss Posted April 24, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted April 24, 2017 I wasnt able to find anything worthwhile that had inline vol control. Call me picky. Apparently these Uclear 'pulse pro drop-in' speakers are quite good: https://ucleardigital.com/shop/helmet-audio/powersports/pulse-pro-helmet-speakers/http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-intercoms/uclear-pulse-speaker-review/ I bought these speakers paired with a very mini Fiio A1 amp and a Sena-10C, it sounds incredible. http://iasus-concepts.com/audio/xs3-helmet-speaker/http://www.webbikeworld.com/r5/iasus-xsound-3-speaker-review/http://www.head-fi.org/products/fiio-a1-micro-headphone-amplifier/reviews/15109 Crush your enemies. Right the x5, hence wanting the inline vol control gotcha. I was considering a nice pocket DAP too but didnt want to fiddle around (in my bulky gloves) more than I already do. You're probably well aware already but there are plenty of inline volume control adapters. Vmoda makes quality gear, just for one. http://v-moda.com/3-button-speakeasy-cable/ I liked the matchbook size of the A1 which I can stick to my helmet, obviously not as refined sound wise but does the trick well enough and its a surprisingly effective little amp for only $35. Premium Member KamelReds Posted May 1, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted May 1, 2017 I gave up on looking for fidelity. I rocked some IEMs for a while, but they really cut me off from my surroundings more than I like. Now I use a SENA and ear plugs, works well enough. It's all about keeping that rubber side down.
