engine is a peach ,a little on the revvy side but you guys already knows that.
I'm averaging 60mpg(uk gal) I ride two up.

so do I.lol here they cost £6849 on the road but bare in mind we have a little more than what the USA gets. like immobilizer etc.
the Mt-07 £6088 UK pounds.

I'm loving the headlight but their styling of the faring, from the side view, and the windscreen just appears "odd" to me. I'm gonna guess it'll be one of those Love it or Hate it aspects of the bike.

I like funky styles but I also like naked bikes to.

I regret sometimes not getting that instead of the standard Mt-07.
At least if the longer swingarm help to keep the front wheel planted and makes it more stable at higher speeds.
Tell us about the effect of the larger sprocket when you know it, coming from inline fours I keep hitting the rev limiter.
Rode one on a track last year but it was not enough to feel the real world differece

I put a one tooth bigger on the front.
that improved things no ends.
never notice and drop in acceleration. probably talking milliseconds.
I got and extra 20 miles to a tankful.
and I was no longer looking for that elusive 7th gear.
for argument sake at 70mph @ 6,00 revs with new sprocket on 5400 revs which made for a pleasant ride.
I sold the Fazer in 2007.

The unrequested wheelpopping is a function of combined poor ecu fuelling/ soft suspension and rear weight bias. A ecu reflash fixes it entirely ( you can still stand it up if you want. Just when you ask it to rather than when you take off at the lights in front a a police car). The tracer longer swingarm helps keep the bike planted as well.
On this note , is the Tracer suspension any firmer than the base ? Considering the OEM luggage designed for loaded touring, you would hope so, or it will be even worse.

now that I've done a couple of thou miles since sprocket change .

I'm averaging 70/74 mpg (uk gal)

that work out roughly 37 miles extra to a tankful.

a much better and smoother ride,not looking for that 7th gear anymore.

also I've notice I stay in each gear a little longer.

overall I'm very pleased with the bike.

hopefully you guy will get  them sooner or later.

I wonder how the suspension varies between the FZ/MT-07 and the Tracer? I'm curious if a tracer rear shock would be an affordable,bolt-in option to cure the under-damped 07 shock.

Me too.

I doubt there's any difference.

 

The fact remains that it's still an emulsion-style shock built to a very low budget.

Maybe the spring might be a bit stiffer for improved 2up riding? I think it would also help accommodate the longer swingarm.

The spring would have to be stiffer even if all the other components were the same because the Tracer is much heavier.

If they have used the same parts for the linkages, the spring would also have to be even heavier ( note IF), because the swingarm is longer ,so has more leverage on the shock.

 

Did I mention I want that swingarm????

Haha thats what i meant when i mentioned the swingarm. Do you think it would be possible to replace the stock spring with the tracer one? I wonder if that would be a suitable replacement while waiting to do a proper upgrade

Nice looking bike. Love that seat, flat for the butt and tapered on the sides for leg comfort. ++ If I'd had a choice between the Tracer and the FZ-07 I would've picked the Tracer because I don't race and it would've made for a comfier ride on short and long rides yet it has enough grunt to have some fun with. Did someone say Fazer? I liked the first 700 Fazer Yamaha came out with. It's a little aggressive looking, kinda like our FZ-07 but in inline-4 form. Most people either liked it or hated it, just one of those bikes.
