aaron.ellsworth95
I'm currently throwing a new exhaust onto my mt07 and the gaskets for the manifold keep falling out making it extremely difficult to get on. Any tips on how to keep them from falling out or should I just buy some new gaskets?
Bigturbomax
A dab of grease has always worked for me. YMMV

sansnombre
Agreed. Dab of grease will keep 'em in place. They will smoke excessively upon first start, but it will clear up.
watarski
I too did the grease on the gaskets. I replaced the exhaust early enough that I didn't feel the need to buy a new set.
Global Moderator Pursuvant Posted October 20, 2020 Global Moderator Share Posted October 20, 2020 Clear tape (office supplies), u can tape them to the pipes, dissolves w/ heat. New header, new gaskets. Just like other habits, like new crush washer, every time. Because pipes have mfg tolerances, some more than others. Cheap insurance for a good seal Ymmv
