Air filter case valve - what to do with it after fitting aftermarket exhaust and fuel controller?

I've fitted an aftermarket exhaust and a EJK fuel controller. Removed the air filter snorkel, and disconnected the O2 sensor. However since I have a non-US bike, there is also a valve on top of the filter case, controlled (I'm assuming) by the ECU. I'm wondering how this will affect things (or even if it's operation is affected by removal of the snorkel) and if it would be safe to remove it in order to experiment with its effect. Is the snorkel diameter the same on the US bikes or larger? Should I keep the valve open, or keep it closed, or just leave it as is and let the ECU do it's thing? What if I want to fit an aftermarket filter that has a lid without a valve, what do I do to the actuator? I've attached a picture of the air filter case lid from the service manual for the US guys. The snorkel points to the front of the bike. Does anyone have a similar pic of the US lid for comparison? Any UK guys that have removed it?

@xor_bot, I have the MWR filter and lid as pictured.  I would assume the valve you have is vacuum operated and just opens at a certain rpm when the vacuum pressure is enough.  If you remove it be sure to plug the hose.
