jayowenz
What's up everyone! I'm getting my M4 on Monday and I wanted to know if I need to Replace the Head gaskets with new ones. If Yes, should I buy grease or something to put on the gaskets so they stick to the engine? Thanks! PS: Here's my baby <
Global Moderator mjh937 Posted August 13, 2017 Global Moderator Share Posted August 13, 2017 I would replace them, especially as they are not expensive. You will most likely get away with using the old ones with no problems, but why not do it right and not have to worry about a possible exhaust leak. The service manual says to use a lithium soap based grease (it also says to use new gaskets).
ducttapewd40
How many miles do you have? I put mine on around 600 miles and reused the gaskets and haven't had any leaks.

jayowenz
Is it normal that the bike is less hot compared to when I had the stock exhaust? I always have around 80-90 degrees with the m4! I love it With the stock, I went up to

I have 9200 miles I'd probably get some new ones just to be safe and it's not like they're expensive.
