https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/1280/15040/Tusk-First-Line-Oil-Filter?v=15485 Those of you who ride dirt know of Rocky Mountain ATV. They are an awesome retailer and they also have their own brand of parts and gear called Tusk. I buy and use a lot of Tusk products, Tusk dirtbike wheels, tools, parts and even gear. Tusk has been making these First Line oil filters for a while now and they are just as good if not better than OEM filters. They have my seal of approval, and at this price of $6.00 , its good to just stock up on a bunch and toss em under the bench. They also sell the right crush washers https://www.rockymountainatvmc.…

I like to stock up on oil and filters and buying in bulk ensures that we always get the best deal and always have materials in our garage. First off, I order from Amazon Castrol Racing Power RS Synthetic 10W-50 4-Stroke Motorcycle Oil in a pack of six for $45.58 shipped. This comes out to $7.59 per quart! this is great oil, very highly rated and locally you will pay $12.00 per quart for this stuff. For filter, also from Amazon, I use the K&N KN-204 Motorcycle/Powersports High Performance Oil Filter for $10.67 with free shipping if ordered with the above oil, or any purchase over $35. This filter would cost you $18 or more locally. The reason tha…

I bought myself a pair of CRG arrow mirrors and didn't realize they dont mount directly to the stock handlebar ends. Are there any cheap alternatives to the Rhino Moto bar ends?

I know I'm not the 1st one to post this up, but it's worth a repeat. I installed Traxxion AR-25 Rod Damper kit and went for a long ride, yesterday morning. I cannot believe how much of a difference this kit made. OEM damping is absolutely terrible.. the fork fully locks up on hard hits. This kit completely changes that. It's perfectly compliant now and of course you feel a lot more in control particularly in bumpy turns. Shame on Yamaha for not including better internals with this bike (everyone would be happy to pay a bit extra for a far better and safer ride). This should be everyone's 1st "big" mod.. not the exhaust! lol

A while back I bought a cheap (£20 - £25) gear shift support to try, it’s obviously a Chinese copy of a Racetorx product and I wasn’t expecting to notice much difference as the gear change on the mt07 felt pretty similar to other bikes I’ve owned, however straight away on the first ride after fitting, gear changes felt much more positive and where before I might get the occasional missed hurried shift at max revs if I was a bit sloppy that doesn’t seem to happen since. So it seems that I’ve cured a problem I didn’t know I had! The Chinese one seems to be decent quality, at the end of the day it’s just an aluminium bracket with a needle bearing but if after awhil…

This bag is $65 on amazon. Pretty nice, to be honest. It comes with straps which would require the "ugly" setup (using passenger foot rests, etc), but with a bit of creativity, it's possibly to set it up to use OEM seat strap locations and 2 bolts at the back of the tail. Easy to connect/disconnect and buckled store cleanly under pillion seat. If interested, I'll be happy to share what it takes to set up those straps. I know the hordpower is ideal but since JD discontinued it what should be the best next step for maximum power? *with a tune specific for the intake and exhaust ofc*

So I have mostly ridden dual sports. I have a thing in my head about hand guards that since I tattoo for a living, I have always tried to protect them as much as possible… also I am no fair weather rider so the protection from the cold, wind, and rain is a must for me. I found these on NICECNC and they worked out perfect… a lot cheaper then the Rottweiler ones… I also bought the bike specific BarkBusters hand guards… what a tight fit! But, all in all I like them. A good option for those of you who run hand guards.

Hey all, I installed a Puig "New Generation Touring" windscreen shortly after getting my new '24 late in December. I now have a little over 800 miles on the bike, and the windscreen is not working for me. It looks great -- the bike looks better with it than without IMHO -- but at 5'8" it just shunts all the wind it displaces right at my helmet. Riding the bike is much noisier with it than without it. It might work for someone six feet or taller, but not for me. So I'm thinking that nothing that looks good on the bike is going to provide decent wind protection, and I might as well just put a flyscreen on it and call it good. Would love for someone to convince me …

I have been reading a lot about if the 4-pin to OBD2 cables work or not. It seems that it was hit and miss in the early days if the OBD2 scanners would detect the correct communication protocols. With the introduction to Buletooth OBD2 scanners this problem has mostly gone away. So I wanted to see if I could use my older cars BAFX Bluetooth OBD2 port to check faults and problems on my 2019 MT07. This way I dont have to waste a day going to the dealer every 6 months for a service, just do it myself. So the parts I used were: BAFX Bluetooth OBD2 scanner (around 4 years old model) 4-pin to OBD2 cable Torque Pro Android app Motorola G6 Androi…

I just bought the venom front and rear stands for my 2015 fz07 and when I try to use the headlift it seems like the bottom of the headlight housing and bottom housing mounting bracket is in the way when try to put bar with the pin goes in and lift looks like it will be resting on the bottom of the headlight housing and bracket is best I can describe I know I put them together correctly I watched several videos to make sure I didn’t have something swapped with the rear stand .. does anyone use the venom headlift stand with their stock fz? Does the headlight need to be removed to use it?

So id like to start by saying ive had these bags installed since 300 miles and now have almost 1100 miles. That out of the way its not a super long term review but ive used them quite alot and have been pretty impressed. As everyone knows, these are the same bags sold in the Yamaha catalog only without Yamaha badging. First impressions Install was very straightforward, took about 30 minutes with only hand tools. Fitment is good as the bags compliment the lines of the bike well in my opinion. The rail system feels a little cheap but looks nice. Despite seeming light duty, ive had no problems with loading the bags down so they are apparently up to t…

I installed an automatic chain oiler a few thousand miles ago. My first experience with one and I wasn't sure what to expect, but the results so far have been so impressive that I thought I'd mention it for others than haven't considered the idea. Context. I put almost 30,000 miles on my 07 without ever needing sprockets, but I "wore out" 3 DID chains. Getting 10,000 miles out of a chain is about my norm, but I've never had a chain actually wear out ( or "stretch"), they just always start becoming stiff and I toss them. I always do a post mortem on the stiff links to see if my kerosene washes have dissolved away the internal grease. I never saw that happen. The orin…

The product is supposed to guard against chain lube splatter. Tested with 80W90 gear oil. Constructed by 3D printer. Fitment is good. It's fastened to the axle by a screw and a plastic dry wall anchor. A machine screw was supplied which is incorrect because a wood screw should be used for the dry wall anchor. I have the Gilles chain adjuster, and the snoto will fit by trimming some material off with a dremel. Although, it's incapable of using the spools or adjusting the chain slack without removing the snoto from the bike. Does it work? Let's just say, out of the box it is disappointing. Lube splatter does get to the rim and the side of the tyre. I would…

DO NOT BUY A MOTECH CENTER STAND IF YOU HAVE AN AKRA CARBON FIBER PIPE!!! Edit: unless you're alright with altering something. I made a bad mistake! When I installed my SW-Motech center stand I didn't check well to see what all it was making contact with underneath, if any and I thought it was OK with my Akra carbon fiber pipe but unfortunately, I didn't look close enough and over time the foot of the stand has created a hole in my muffler. It definitely makes contact. I barely noticed the pipe slowly getting louder and louder and I made the mistake of assuming the muffler simply needed a re-pack. The muffler got a good re-pack job but it's probably still going to be loud…

I looked in the owner’s manual but couldn’t find any spec for this. Just want to know if it makes enough juice to power a heated jacket liner and heated gloves. Thanks in advance for any info you can offer!

Im only asking because i like the speedometer on the 2021-22 models and was wondering if it would fit on my 2020 model Thanks again and apologies if i posted in the wrong section

just got done installing the Ohlins 46DR1 Shock and NIX 22mm inserts. for starters, anyone who has attempted to ride the 07 aggressively in canyons, track, etc. knows the fz07s biggest downfall is its suspension. its soft, sloshy, the geometry is WACK, and the front end wants to fight you while diving into corners. however, aside from good tires (which should immediately be done after this mod for maximum effectiveness) there is a cure. This suspension upgrade will NOT leave you disappointed. the rear shock raises the back end ride height by 4.5mm, which puts the bike in a more aggressive stance and allows for a more "balanced" motorcycle in aggressive corners. I d…

After putting in too many hours to recount meticulously rebuilding my bike that was hit by a car last year I'm looking for some protection. Impaktech looks cool/quality but at the end of the day is way too pricey for me to justify for some metal tubing. I'm looking at this option by Crewgarage (around half the price) and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience running this cage: https://crewgarage.com/product/crash-cage-yamaha-mt-fz-07-2014-2023/ As far as subcages go, these are the two I'm looking at. If anyone has experience with either of these (particularly the one from Thailand) or the Crewgarage cage I'd really appreciate some input. Thanks! https://www.ruch…

As the title stated, Puig Windscreen for the MT-07. Mine is the 2022. Puig Touring Naked New Generation Windscreen Yamaha MT-07 2021-2023 Touring on a naked motorcycle has often meant getting beaten up by the wind blast, until now. Take back the road... Ordered through Cycle Gear. The box had a nice design on it. Products were fairly packed in with the foam like sheeting between the items

Well, I believe I shoud be able to store my full face helmet and a few other items... 😊 Honestly, I didn't buy this trailer for my FZ07. I already had it since a few years and I'm using it behind my Versys 1000. I simply duplicated the mounting hardware which goes through the hollow rear wheel axle. "Hardest" part has been to make the wiring harness. Made a 100 km ride yesterday and, as usual, the trailer is "invisible" behind the bike.

Let's have some fun looking at some measures I took of the Yosh R77 pipe (and 2wdw flash) I installed recently on a 2019 XSR700. Product as ordered (and used in this review) Yoshimura Race Series R-77 Works Finish Full Exhaust for Yamaha FZ-07 / MT-07 / XSR700 w/Black can with 2WDW ECU flash. Everything was purchased through 2 Wheel Dyno Works in Kirkland, WA What I received Delivery of parts/return of ECU flashed I FEDEX'd the ECU, it arrived at 2WDW on a Tuesday morning, those guys got it together. They flashed the ECU and shipped it back out to me same day (Tuesday), using priority USPS. I received it on that Friday. Th…

So in the past with previous motorcycles (all standards) there were so girth and thickness to ass end of a bike such as like this Now with my MT-07, I really don't see anything to attach the hooks to I will admit, I can be a little "baby huey" in growing years and really not see the trees because the forest is in the way.

I do have a Garmin Zumo 395LM GPS that I use a lot on one of my other ride (2017 Versys 1000). I’m thinking at also using the GPS on my 2017 FZ07 and I’m wondering if there is a recommended favorite mount. My GPS came with some accessoires (handlebar ball mount among others) but the main support on which the GPS clips on is "permanently" installed and wired on the Versys via a SW-Motech mount. Any suggestions please for the FZ07? Thanks!

By the way, DO NOT BUY Contour Roam Rotating Mounts that are sold these days because they stopped production on these years ago and everything floating on ebay or camera shops for 60-70 dollars have been slowly degrading! Anyway, to get to the point of this topic, if you have ANY plastic camera mounts on your helmet, you need to buy new ones from companies that are still actively producing them and switch them out every 5 or so years. I say this because the majority of my plastic camera mounts from 6+ years ago are either cracking or degrading. Even mounts that have been stored around in my garage!!! I have recently been replacing mounts with ram metal bal…

Can anyone recommend a decent bag for the FZ 07? I just want something that I can put some of my stuff in. Maybe big enough to hold a 15 inch laptop and a few more odds and ends. I don't really care for saddle type bags that make the bike wider. I would like to find a nice, roomie tail bag or tank bag. Are any of you guys rocking anything like this on your FZ 07?

Hi. After numerous attempts at calling and writing Hord, asking for a replacement filter for their FZ07 Hord system, I never heard back. I'm not sure if they're out of business, or just not interested, or what, but I need a new filter for that system, so I had to just figure it out on my own what it is. I measured and tried a few, and figured out that it is: K&N E-3341 Hope this helps someone.

I have been googling and googling and I just can't find the answer! What size crush washer do I need for my oil change? I reused my old one on the last oil change because the new one I had didn't fit. Thanks!

2017 FZ07 Is there such thing as longer gearing available for FZ07? I'm thinking at 17T/18T front or 42T/41T rear. Are such sprockets available? I'm asking as looks like JT do not make larger than 16 FR and smaller than 43 RR. If there's a source for those sprockets, does someone knows what's the largest (front) and smallest (rear) that can be used with no rubbing issues? Thanks!

Just got a 2017 FZ07. This is another bike in my garage that my wife will never come aboard. So, I would like to have kind of a "one-up" look. I'm thinking at a seat cowl that hide (or remove?) the passenger seat. I've seen a few on Ebay but I'm wondering if there is one source that is more recommendable than the others. I don't intend to spend $200 but more in the $50 area (if such a thing is possible or a wise choice). Many thanks!

As title says, I'm looking for invisible fuel tank protection. I'm thinking at an invisible film that would cover the most exposed (to leg rubbing) areas of the fuel tank. Would like to find a kit that comes pre-cut for a 2017 FZ07. Someone got a link for this? All I found so far are opaque pieces. Thanks!
